Need to take legal action or perhaps looking for a
career? The answer could be with an attorney,
otherwise known as a lawyer an attorney seeks to
represent individuals, groups of people and companies
in a court of law on varying matters. An attorney is
usually a specialist in one or two fields allowing them to
be the expert when it comes to the legalities within their
chosen field.
Hiring an attorney is not cheap and if you want to use
a lawyer or attorney to represent you in court then you
need to know this. However, spending the money can be
well worth it as they can quite literally win you the
case at the bench. Depending on the circumstances
surrounding your situation your attorney may work for
you pro-bono. Pro bono can be described as an offer by
your attorney to work for free for the duration of the
matter. Sometimes this offer comes wrapped in a clause
that specifies that should the attorney win the case,
they will receive a pre-determined percentage of the
money that is awarded. Attorney's generally don't mind
this as they can usually attract some good publicity
for their good will.
Fee paying makes finding an attorney and securing their
services quite difficult. But it is not just hiring a
lawyer that is difficult. Studying to be an attorney
takes many years and includes long hours of work and
research that is constant and unrelenting. All this makes
becoming a lawyer very difficult.
To become an attorney, one must have already
achieved a bachelor degree of approximately three to
four years duration in any field. As a post graduate
student wanting to become an attorney, another 3
years of study will be required by attending Law
School. At Law School an area of specialization can be
chosen, or a popular choice is that a student may wish
to study a general law degree and not specialize in
anything, therefore broadening their option for a variety
of caseloads.
One of the most time consuming and yet wealthiest jobs in
the world is that of an attorney. The benefits are endless
for attorneys as they tend to make money from people suing
people for even the smallest issues. The question is, will
their job tend to be the one that people always need
savior from? Can the fear of being sued keep giving attorney
the title of superman/women? Only time will tell.
